Astri Grupp is Building a Commercial Building in Raadi, to be Leased by K- Rauta
Astri Grupp is developing a commercial building with an approximate floor
area of 15,000 m² on the Keskuse tee 8 property. The tenant will be Kesko
Senukai K-Rauta. The building is scheduled for completion in the autumn of
2026.
According to Kairi Toom, CEO of Astri Grupp, the Raadi area has developed
significantly, and demand for goods and services closer to home has increased. “In
recent years, many new residential developments have been established in Raadi. A
construction, garden, and household goods store with a wide range of products will
be a great addition to this rapidly developing area. We are pleased to announce that
we have signed an agreement with our good partner, Kesko Senukai, to open a new
concept K-Rauta construction store in Raadi.”
According to Viktorija Voicenko, Managing Director of Kesko Senukai Estonia,
consumer needs are especially important to them. “We know how important it is for
residents to quickly and conveniently access home, construction, renovation, and
interior products in new residential areas. Based on our experience in the Baltic
markets, we are opening the chain’s flagship store in Estonia – a next-generation K-
Rauta store. Its floor area will be approximately 15,000 m² with an outdoor sales
area of 4,000 m². Our Raadi store will be twice the size of our current stores in
Tallinn. In total, 140 new jobs will be created.”
“In the new store, we will focus on offering the best shopping experience, the latest
technological solutions, and a wide range of products to always ensure the best
choice for customers. The new product assortment solutions will also enable faster
delivery of goods ordered from the K-Rauta.ee online store,” added Voicenko.
“Tartu municipality is one of the fastest-developing and growing municipalities in
Estonia. The growth driver has been the residential developments in Raadi. The
municipality has invested in creating kindergarten and school places and public
spaces in the area, but to create a fully functional living environment, business
services and commerce are also necessary. A construction, gardening, and
household goods store has been eagerly awaited in this area, and it’s a great joy that
a center with a wide selection will be established in Raadi,” explained municipal
mayor Jarno Laur.
According to Kaido Somelar, head of Ehitustrust, cooperation is key. “It’s important
to stand behind one’s words – this is the basis of Ehitustrust’s cooperation and the
key to earned trust. The client has done a lot of work on the K-Rauta project and has
left the formalization to us. I’m very grateful for such trust.”
The building’s architect is Ülo Peil, and the general contracting agreement has been
signed with Ehitustrust. Architecturally, it will be a construction store, but what’s new
is the scale of the building. Compared to other stores in the same chain, the Raadi
store will be larger, with a wider selection geared toward private customers and will
feature a drive-in section.
